How-To…Get Inspired!
It’s Tuesday and yes I know we are supposed to give you a How-To lesson, something of crafty nature, but this week we are going to go just a little different.
In the past year or so, specifically in the last few months, I have made connections and started friendships with some of the most wonderful photographers and plain ole great people! One example in particular is this here blog…little of you may know that although I have joined Tracy in this awesome adventure called Prop Insanity, I have never even met Tracy or Susanne! I am all the way in New York and they are all the way in Chicago & Germany!
A blog post on MCP Actions brought me to purchase my first Tracy Joy, we compared a couple notes and the rest is history!
By surfing the net, joining groups and forums and reaching out to just about anyone who would give me the time of day, has gotten me to where I am now.
So what’s the point!? There is so much inspiration and support out there, in so many different ways and so many of them are FREE!!
One group that I just recently found is I ♥ Faces. I am not sure why it took me so long to make my way to their site, but I am so glad to have found these two wonderful ladies, Angie and Amy, that have been kind enough to start this forum solely for their love and devotion for photography.
I first posted a couple weeks ago for a weekly contest, purely for the fun of it…I could not believe the overwhelming support from people I had never met! My mailbox was overflowing with complimenting emails and such kind words from fellow photog’s of every level. I have met so many wonderful people in such a short amount of time, I can only imagine what 2009 will bring!
Their weekly contests really get you going, there are not always prizes but it sure gets you motivated to snap a pic and get it posted asap! Ever week is a different category, each one more fun then the next, and Friday’s are my favorite!! Fix-It Friday is an awesome and FREE way to practice and share your post-process skills. You won’t believe the support you will get from all the fellow iheartface.com readers.
Head over to I ♥ Faces and get signed up for blog updates…I guarantee you will make a friend or two along the way! Check out the How-To-Tutorial posted today…don’t make fun of tutorial skills, or lack there of, this was my first go at it!
